An update & Creativity First Aid Kit
Last year my husband and I moved to France, and we now live in a small hamlet in beautiful Limousin, surrounded by fields and trees.
We love the area, and I’m very grateful for the house we found – light filled rooms, white walls, wooden floors (goodbye carpet at last!), and a small garden.
All types of change are stressful though, even those we choose.
As a Highly Sensitive Person, I need extra time to integrate all the new sights, scents, sounds, and experiences, no matter how beautiful they are, and also time to grieve for all the people, places, and familiar habits left behind.
So once the excitement of the move wore off, I went through a phase of low mood and my inspiration reached rock bottom. I didn’t know what I wanted to create any more, and so I took time off from my business and from social media, and gave myself permission to grieve, be still, do some soul searching, and replenish my creative well.
This took months, and at times I worried and wondered if I’d ever feel inspired again…but knowing that creativity is a cycle of ebb and flow, I kept trusting that eventually all would be well again.
I’m happy to report that I’m finally feeling inspired again, and very excited about a new project I’m cooking up for this year – something dear to my heart, that I’ve been thinking about for a long time.
I’ll talk about this soon, but first I want to share with you something that may help you when you’re going through a creative drought: the “Creativity First Aid Kit” – simple tips and prompts to help you rekindle inspiration when you hit a creative slump.
I hope you enjoy this download and find it helpful, and please feel free to share it with anyone who might find it helpful too :)
